  • Controller

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent
    NOTE: Only applicants that are willing to work in person at our Abbotsford Design Studio will be considered.

    What The Role Looks Like

    We are an innovative, entrepreneurial team looking for a like-minded individual to step in and provide financial oversight to all areas of our business ventures. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO),  the Controller will be responsible for providing financial management and operational support for three business units (Su Casa Design, Booster Juice and Devout Developments). As a member of the senior management team, the Controller will be involved in strategic planning, evaluation, and future development initiatives.

  • Senior Interior Designer

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent
    NOTE: Only applicants that are willing to work in person at our Abbotsford Design Studio will be considered.

    What The Role Looks Like

    Working full time at our Abbotsford location, the Senior Interior Designer is highly experienced in supporting and participating with a design team in creating functionally beautiful spaces for residential clients. Using industry knowledge, design experience, innovative design concepts and creativity, each project will also stay aligned with the Su Casa Design brand.

    Responsibilities and Capabilities

    • Consistently bring great, fresh ideas that are project appropriate, captures the
    look and aesthetic of the project needs and Su Casa Design brand positioning.
    • Work on projects from all phases of design through installment, including but not limited to: CAD drawings, sourcing, procurement, scheduling, and customer service.
    • Work directly with, and manage with team to guide, create, and present presentation boards to include CAD drawings, mood boards, FF&E, surface materials, color palettes, and lighting, plumbing, etc.
    • Independently review approved set of construction documents, including conceptual space plans, furniture plans, RCP plans, and key elevations, and asses the documents for final approval and/or modifications.
    • Generate plan specifications based on client needs and contract requirements.
    • Provide design support and administration during all phases of completion and
    execution of design concepts and projects.
    • Source and work with outside vendors to procure and coordinate all furniture, fixtures, & accessories.
    • Manage multiple projects at once and maintain a daily task list for assigned projects.

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of Interior Design Experience, preferably from a design specific firm.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school
    • Highly skilled in AutoCAD and SketchUp, along with working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Skilled at researching finish materials and knowledge of their required applications as well as installation requirements.
    • Proven ability to create comprehensive concept and material schedules that include enough information for quality installation and ordering with few questions of clarification by installers.
    Proven track record of achieving goals in a deadline-based industry and regularly shows the ability to seek out and finds solutions to problems as they come up while maintain overall control.
    • Demonstrates the need for open and direct communication both verbally and in writing and possesses leadership ability.
    • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
    • Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials for high
    end residential environments.
    • Great ability to multitask, work independently as well as a team, fearless and ambitious.
    • Must be able to see a project through to completion.
    • Own a reliable vehicle for site visits.

  • Team Lead and Project Manager Interior Design

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent
    NOTE: Only applicants that are willing to work in person at our Abbotsford Design Studio will be considered.

    What The Role Looks Like

    Working full time at our Abbotsford location, we are looking for an individual that is experienced in Interior Design and will play an integral part in the department by assigning projects to our Interior Designers. They will be responsible for creating fee proposals, along with overseeing project successes from start to finish. The Project Coordinator will also help refine processes and procedures in our Interior Design Team. Finally, this individual will ensure that each team member is growing in their capabilities by reviewing their performance on a regular basis and help to drive the human resources needs for the ID team.

    Responsibilities and Capabilities

    • Oversee all aspects of the team including coach and connects, performance, and project management.
    • Consistently assist in building the team through acquiring new talent.
    • Attending meetings with clients (including kick-off meetings, final walkthroughs) to manage projects according to consultant’s scope of works.
    • Assisting Senior Designers with site works and installations to ensure compliance with specification and code requirements.
    • Tracking and updating projects on a weekly basis.
    • Coordinate meetings with clients and ensure questions are answered.
    • Ensure projects billing is up to date and accurate with the hours budgeted.
    • Arrange and coordinate meetings with clients for the Interior Design team.
    • Assign and track current and future projects with the Senior Designers.
    • Collaborate with Designers and help bring great, fresh ideas that are project appropriate, capturing the look and aesthetic of the project needs and Su Casa Design brand positioning.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of Interior Design Experience, preferably from a design specific firm.
    • Previous Team Leadership experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school preferred.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp, along with working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Intermediate Interior Designer

    Position

    Working full-time at our Abbotsford location, the Intermediate Interior Designer is experienced in supporting the Senior Interior Designer by participating with the design team in creating functionally beautiful spaces for residential clients. Using industry knowledge, design experience, innovative design concepts and creativity, each project will also stay aligned with the Su Casa Design brand.

    Responsibilities and Capabilities

    • Collaborate on interiors projects to set up AutoCAD drawing packages
    • Development of full construction document packages; including review of shop drawings for compliance with design drawings
    • Work closely with the Senior Designer to ensure efficient completion of deliverables
    • Provide design support during all phases of completion and execution of design concepts and projects.
    • Source and work with outside vendors to procure and coordinate all furniture, fixtures, & accessories.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Highly professional communication skills and relationship management skills in your dealings with the design team, clients and contractors
    • Independent and collaborative attitude in a high functioning Interior Design studio with the ability to meet multiple deadlines

    Qualifications

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited school
    • 3+ years of Interior Design Experience, preferably from a residential design firm.
    • Working knowledge of local building codes
    • AutoCAD or Revit skills are required; Revit proficiency is beneficial
    • Efficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word and Excel

  • Residential Drafting Technician

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent
    NOTE: Only applicants that are willing to work in person at our Abbotsford Design Studio will be considered.

    What The Role Looks Like

    Working full time at our Abbotsford location, the Residential Drafting Technician is experienced in supporting the Drafting Team Lead by producing quality single family residential drawings in an expedient manner. They will also support the team lead by having excellent communication skills and by being a continual learner. Candidates for this role must have strong skills using Revit.

    Responsibilities and Capabilities

    • Creation of Architectural Building Permit sets for Single-family residential designs.
    • Suite Layout Creation, Elevations Drawing coordination with sites. Work closely with supervisor.
    • Produce BIM drawings and documents as directed by Team Leaders. When working on changes from red lines, self-track progress to ensure completion and accuracy of changes requested.
    • Red-line revisions with ability to check his or her own work for accuracy and being able to problem solve.
    Organize and file project related information.
    • Perform simple compliance checks (building code, zoning) as directed by Team Leader.
    • Assist with design development drawings when required, including applying simple changes through a series of standard drawings (plan, elevation, building sections).
    • Proficiency in manipulating CAD data for import into Revit models.
    • Assist with calculations as requested (area overlays etc.) to support Rezoning or Development Permit data.
    • Communicate any BIM related problems and questions to a Team Leader or BIM manager.
    • Produce print-ready files and order drawings from printer as requested by Team Leader.

    Qualifications

    • A degree or diploma in Architectural and Building Technology (or a related discipline) from an accredited post-secondary institution.
    • Minimum 4 or 5 years of Drafting or Architectural experience required. Technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods and materials.
    • Understanding of BC Building Code and building envelope concepts. Proficient drafting with Revit software. Proficiency with developing project models and construction documents for single family residential dwellings.
    • Proven track record of achieving goals in a deadline-based industry and regularly shows the ability to seek out and finds solutions to problems as they come up while maintain overall control. Must be able to see a project through to completion. Able to work in a fast paced environment.
