Westbrook Friesen Group is hiring!
We’re looking for a tech-savvy, systems-oriented professional with experience in Salesforce (HubSpot is a plus!) to join the Westbrook Friesen Group as our Systems Administrator. In this role, you’ll manage the IT needs across our companies, leading the charge in optimizing tools and systems to drive organizational growth. You’ll tackle challenges head-on, from untangling complex software to simplifying processes, ensuring our team stays focused on delivering a WOW-level client experiences. As Systems Administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure across multiple companies, streamlining systems, and supporting the team with IT needs. Your work will involve addressing specific challenges with our financial software, Certinia and making Salesforce a more team-friendly CRM platform. You’ll also play a supporting role in delivering phenomenal client experiences by enhancing the systems behind the scenes.

~ Systems Management: Administer all company software and hardware systems, ensuring consistent updating, maintenance, and troubleshooting while prioritizing security and data integrity to safeguard sensitive information.Creation of preliminary and construction/permit drawings for custom single-family homes.
~ Salesforce and Certinia: Address and resolve ongoing challenges with Certinia, a financial and project tracking software within Salesforce, optimizing its use to fit business needs, such as improved usability and reporting.
~ Data Accuracy and Reporting: Establish processes to capture and report essential data accurately, minimizing the reliance on external tools like Excel for financial analysis.
~ Software Enhancement: Identify, implement, and integrate software solutions that meet the needs of our diverse business activities, including inventory control, purchase order issuance, and client management.
~ Client Experience and Simplification: Streamline and systematize processes so our team can consistently deliver WOW-level client experiences. Adopt an approach focused on simplifying current systems to enhance efficiency and enable the team to concentrate on delivering exceptional client service.
~ Cross-Functional Support: Serve as a key support for the leadership team and department heads, helping optimize tools and systems to strengthen team synergy.
~ Certinia’s Limitations: Certinia software, designed for professional services, has proven overly complex and is not ideal for inventory or PO management. You will be responsible for customizing and simplifying this tool or finding better alternatives where necessary.
~ Salesforce Discomfort: As Certinia is embedded within Salesforce, there is resistance stemming from user frustrations. Your role will involve addressing these concerns, creating a more intuitive experience so that there is restored team confidence in our technology.
~ Team Integration: Prior system implementation tactics has led to minimal team buy-in on system changes, causing friction. You’ll foster team collaboration, ensuring that all system adjustments are well-reasoned and accompanied by adequate training for users.
~ Enhanced Client Experience: You’ll contribute to creating memorable, consistent client experiences, including systemizing the elements that inspire clients to confidently refer us to others.
~ Streamlined Processes: Help us achieve a more straightforward, efficient way of doing business by reducing system complexity.
~ Effective Data Utilization: Support the team with tools that make data entry and reporting intuitive, moving away from workarounds like Excel.
~ Data Integrity and Security: Maintain consistent and effective systems to ensure data is accurate, secure, and protected.
Qualifications
~ A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Salesforce Administrator, or equivalent) are a strong advantage.
~ Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT administration, systems implementation, and software optimization, with a track record of successfully managing and improving IT infrastructure in a dynamic business environment.
~ Expertise in Salesforce or HubSpot CRM software, with the ability to configure, optimize, and integrate these systems to meet business needs.
~ While coding expertise isn’t required, the ability to understand and communicate effectively with developers is essential.
~ A familiarity with AI technologies and principles for practical application in business operations, with an eye toward driving efficiency and innovation.
~ A natural inclination for simplifying complex systems and processes, paired with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving IT challenges.
~ A team-player mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional projects, foster collaboration, and ensure smooth implementation of IT initiatives.
~ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Reports to Drafting Team Lead
The Intermediate Drafting Technician & Project Lead is experienced in supporting the Drafting Team Lead by producing quality drawings with strong communication skills to ensure the success of their projects and client satisfaction. They will also thrive in their career by being a continual learner and pushing the boundaries of what has already been done. Strong problem-solving skills and innovation are essential to be successful in this position.
~ Creation of preliminary and construction/permit drawings for custom single-family homes, leading the project’s progression throughout until completion
~ Able to see a project’s drawings from concept to permit ready with direction from the Drafting Team Lead, and with assistance from other team members where applicable.
~ Analyze complicated siting, zoning, client requirements in various jurisdictions with help of the Drafting Team lead
~ Develop floor plan and exterior concepts based on sketches/direction from Creative Lead
~ Understand and apply implications of zoning, code requirements to concept drawings in discussion with the Drafting Team Lead
~ Show a growing ability to redline drawings, checking personal work and others for accuracy and presentation quality. Show growth in being able to problem solve
~ Develop construction drawing package
~ Visit project sites when required along with the Creative Director to discuss and analyze siting, views, project constraints with the clients

Working full time at our Abbotsford location, the Senior Drafting Technician is experienced in supporting the Drafting Team Lead by producing quality drawings in an expedient manner. They will also support the team lead by having excellent communication skills and by being a continual learner.
~ Creation of preliminary and construction/permit drawings for custom single-family homes.
~ Develop floor plan and exterior concepts based on sketches/direction from Creative Lead
~ Able to see a project from concept to permit ready with or without other team members where applicable.
~ Analyze complicated siting, zoning, client requirements in various jurisdictions.
~ Understand and apply implications of zoning, code requirements to concept drawings.
~ Redline revisions with ability to check his or her own work for accuracy and being able to problem solve.
~ Organize and file project related information.
~ Work in a team-oriented approach, willing to jump on high-priority projects to assist others in meeting deadlines.
~ With other colleagues drafting / design team members
~ With clients and consultants to see a project through to permit ready drawings.
~ With city planners, plan checkers to resolve project deficiencies
~ Any CAD related problems and questions to a Team Leader or CAD manager.
~ Requirements of design to colleagues/ junior drafting team members where required.
~ A certificate, degree, or diploma in Architectural Drafting, or Architectural and Building Technology (or a related discipline) from an accredited post-secondary institution.
~ Minimum 6-7 years of Drafting or Architectural experience in Single Family Design required.
~ Technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods and materials.
~ Understanding of BC Building Code and building envelope concepts.
~ Proficient in modelling & drafting in Revit, familiar with AutoCAD software for coordination
~ Proven track record of achieving goals in a deadline-based industry and regularly shows the ability to seek out and finds solutions to problems as they come up while maintaining project schedules.
~ Able to work in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects at once.
