    Residential Drafting Technician

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent

    What The Roll Looks Like

    Working full time at our Abbotsford location, the Residential Drafting Technician is experienced in supporting the Drafting Team Lead by producing quality single family residential drawings in an expedient manner. They will also support the team lead by having excellent communication skills and by being a continual learner. Candidates for this role must have strong skills using Revit.

    Responsibilities and Capabilities

    1. Creation of Architectural Building Permit sets for Single-family residential designs.
    2. Suite Layout Creation, Elevations Drawing coordination with sites. Work closely with supervisor.
    3. Produce BIM drawings and documents as directed by Team Leaders. When working on changes from red lines, self-track progress to ensure completion and accuracy of changes requested.
    4. Red-line revisions with ability to check his or her own work for accuracy and being able to problem solve.
    5. Organize and file project related information.
    6. Perform simple compliance checks (building code, zoning) as directed by Team Leader.
    7. Assist with design development drawings when required, including applying simple changes through a series of standard drawings (plan, elevation, building sections).
    8. Proficiency in manipulating CAD data for import into Revit models.
    9. Assist with calculations as requested (area overlays etc.) to support Rezoning or Development Permit data.
    10. Communicate any BIM related problems and questions to a Team Leader or BIM manager.
    11. Produce print-ready files and order drawings from printer as requested by Team Leader.

    Qualifications

    1. A degree or diploma in Architectural and Building Technology (or a related discipline) from an accredited post-secondary institution.
    2. Minimum 4 or 5 years of Drafting or Architectural experience required. Technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods and materials.
    3. Understanding of BC Building Code and building envelope concepts. Proficient drafting with Revit software. Proficiency with developing project models and construction documents for single family residential dwellings.
    4. Proven track record of achieving goals in a deadline-based industry and regularly shows the ability to seek out and finds solutions to problems as they come up while maintain overall control. Must be able to see a project through to completion. Able to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Intermediate Interior Designer

     

     

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent

    What The Roll Looks Like

    Working full time at our Abbotsford location,  this individual works alongside the Creative Director and Team Lead to produce exciting interior design packages for our clients. You will be creatively active in meeting with clients, producing concept and specification packages and also working drawings in AutoCAD.

    Responsibilities and Capabilities

    1. Collaborate on interior projects to set up AutoCAD drawing packages.

    2. Development of full construction document packages; including review of shop drawings for compliance with design drawings.

    3. Work closely with the Team Lead to ensure efficient completion of deliverables.

    4. Provide design support during all phases of completion and execution of design concepts and projects.

    5. Source and work with outside vendors to procure and coordinate all furniture, fixtures and accessories.

    6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    7. Highly professional communication skills and relationship management skills in dealing with the design team, clients and contractors.

    8. Able to work independently and collaborate with the team .

    9. Career driven individual who wants to grow with our company.

    10. Own a reliable vehicle for site visits.

    Qualifications

    1. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited school.

    2. Minimum 5 years of Interior Design experience, preferably from a residential design perspective.

    3. Working knowledge of local building codes.

    4. AutoCAD or Revit skills are required.

  • Administrative Assistant

     

     

    Position
    Full-Time, Permanent

    What The Roll Looks Like

    Working full time at our Abbotsford location, the Administrative Assistant is experienced in supporting Executive leadership in maintaining and planning schedules. As well, this role helps the organization by receiving new and current client requests with a positive and personable attitude. This person also works with the team in communicating various request to and from clients in a kind and efficient manner. A successful Administrative Assistant should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists the Creative Director by managing his weekly schedule and communications with clients.
    • Mantain CRM Client and Project Records
    • Greet visitors, in person, online or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
    • Field project requests via telephone or email and book meetings as needed. 30+ phone calls a day and 30+ emails a day.
    • Work with the Creative Director for planning of projects.
    • Assist the Creative Director to track hours and mileage every day.
    • Assists the Creative Director in Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions.
    • Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Communicates and directs communications to the appropriate team members.
    • Work with Bookkeeper to produce invoices for projects.
    • Maintain filing system
    • Order office supplies
    • Maintain Contact lists
    • Put together fee proposals
    • Calculate project estimates
    • Put together exterior packages
    • General assisting when needed to interior designers:
    • Putting together documentation
    • Client sign offs
    • Ordering and communicating with reps
    • Errands (Cleaning, Bank Deposits, Post office, shopping, event planning)
    • Plan office events i.e. lunches, Christmas parties, etc
    • Implement project sign ons
    • Updating Project information daily
    • Keep track of project due dates and project scheduling according to project load
    • New Client Files; hardcopy & electronic
    • Hardcopy:
    • File contract with existing fee proposal (Assign project number)
    • Print signed Contract, client info and zoning details
    • Print contact details onto folder
    • Electronic
    • Create client file (Assign project number)
    • Create Admin & Invoicing file within client folder
    • Save signed contract & client info into folder
    • Locate Survey
    • Implement information into Sales Force & Quickbooks
    • In Office meetings
    • Request them to fill out ‘Client Info Sheet.’
    • Offer coffee/tea, prepare at their request
    • Clean up boardroom
    • Keep tabs of timing of meetings

     QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Personable.
    • Great ability to multitask, work independently as well as a team, fearless and ambitious.
    • High School Diploma.
