If you follow along in the house design world in Instagram it is likely you have come across Julia and Chris Marcum from Chris Loves Julia (@chrislovesjulia). A husband-and-wife home design, DIY, renovating super duo. We are uber inspired by what they do and the risks they take (and with colour *gasp*) in their renovations…the outcome is awe-inspiring.
They recently have moved from Idaho to North Carolina where they are starting a whole new renovation on their #cljmoderncolonial and we are closely following along. If you have been subscribed for a while here, you will remember us featuring Jean Stoffer as a designer spotlight – Julia and Chris have hired them to design their new kitchen.We can’t wait to see what this dynamite team came up with!Check them out to see what inspires us. |

It’s back to school time! |

Where did the summer go?(I feel like I say that at the end of every season)
I enjoyed the warm late nights sitting by the fire, and most of the chaos of no schedule. In the midst of a full scale renovation, my family and I definitely had a lot of fun this summer as we managed to stay local by getting around to a number of vintage fairs and other points of adventure.
However, something about sending the kids back to school and routine is like the start of a new year – it feels fresh and motivating. Especially living amongst a renovation -- I will take what I can get when it comes to feeling a sense of normalcy at home.
